Let the lubricant sink far down into the lock. Apply the lubricant sparingly - you need just a few drops. Put lubricant on the shackle and dial parts if your lock freezes up in the winter. Once you’ve partially engaged the tumblers, you should clear out the lock before trying again. If it doesn’t open, repeat the process from the beginning. You can also hold on to the shackle and pull down the lock. Pull up the shackle at the top of the lock, and it should open right up. What do you do if your combination lock won’t open? Once you do that, set your new combination, then slide the notch to the right and down.
